How Do I Join First UMC of Warren
Our mission is about “Connecting people with the love of God; Growing in our faith together; Going to serve God by serving others.” We believe that the community we serve and the greater world should be a better place for people to live because we are here making a difference.
To accomplish our mission, one of our core values is covenant relationship. Being a Christian requires one to be in a covenant relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that church membership is also a commitment to be in covenant relationship. It is a commitment between God, the Body of Christ, and the individual person.
If you would like to be part of what we are doing here at First UMC of Warren and would like to join the church, we would like to meet with you. Several times a year, we will be offering a class that will cover the basics of the Christian faith as well as our unique history as United Methodists. We will also explore the many ministries of the church and help you find the right place in which you can use your gifts to serve God by serving others.
Meeting with the pastor and going through the materials of this class are required
Reception of New Members
After the initial membership class, participants who wish to become members will be received as full members during a worship service. Please know that baptism is required for membership. If you are not baptized, that will be offered within the context of the service as well.
We believe that stewardship is a part of membership. When you make your membership vows, you promise to faithfully participate in the ministry of the church by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness.
If you are interested in joining First UMC of Warren, please watch for a membership class or contact the church office.
