United Methodist Women
Purpose:
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose to to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Activities and Programs:
Appalachia Service Project, Cass Community Social services, Church Women United, Methodist Children's Home, Salvation Army of Warren, Turning Point, UMRC Heritage Foundation, Baldwin Avenue UMC and Center, Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, Red Bird Mission, Heifer Project International, Baby Layettes for Social Services, Sandwiches for Detroit Central UMC, MCREST, Looking Glass Community Services, Funeral Luncheons, Coffee Hour, Lenten Breakfast, Taste Delite Luncheon, Collect used cards for Bovenschen School, Trips, East Door Greeter and Card Registry.
Membership:
Membership shall be open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and to participate in the global mission of the church through United Methodist Women.
Meeting Times:
September - May
Mission Team (Exec. Comm.) - First Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
Circle Meetings: Established by each circle-traditionally the second Tuesday of each month @ 9:30 a.m.
Fellowship Mtg. - Third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. except June, July & August.
June - August
Luncheons at various restaurants in the area at 11:30 a.m.
